Welcome to Rakar, founded by Ray Laporte and Karl Bischoff in 1951; we are a recognized leader in the manufacturing of precision components and assemblies. In 2017, I acquired the Company from Walter Pittman, Ray's son-in-law, who served as the CEO from 1985 to 2017. Rakar had been my employer for almost forty years at the time. Today, we continue as a family-owned & operated business. My son, Diego Padilla, is the company's Executive Vice-President and Advanced Manufacturing Lead. Along with our Team, we look forward to working with you on your most challenging projects that require reliability and the highest standards of quality and risk mitigation.
Rakar is a Certified Woman, Minority-Owned and Operated Company registered with the State Department as an ITAR Manufacturer; we are an AS9100-D and ISO:9001 2015 Certified Supplier. The company was founded in 1951 at the dawn of the space age with the goal of providing high-quality components, competitive lead-times, value, and reliability to our clients. We are located in the beachside city of Oxnard, California 20 minutes north of Los Angeles. We are headquartered in our own 28,000 sq. ft. facility since 1987, specializing in thermoset and thermoplastic transfer, compression, and injection plastic molding and machining as well as precision toolmaking.
